WE PROVIDE SOLUTIONS FOR
Summer school. Tulsa Hope academy provides Novel to reduce summer school costs and offer a greater variety of courses to students seeking additional credits. Use of Novel within summer schools reduces the number of teachers required to conduct classes while meeting the needs of a broad spectrum of students. Because students can work at their own pace, many can complete several credits within summer school.
At-risk students. Many students in danger of dropping out have a difficult time in the traditional classroom setting, especially if they’re lagging far behind their peers. By offering an online program, students have the flexibility to work at their own pace from any location that has a computer and internet connection. Educators can spend more one-on-one time with students focusing on their specific needs.
Mainstream students. Tulsa Hope Academy reaches a broad range of academic abilities within one classroom using Novel. Novel can be used to generate homework assignments, midterms, and final exams for each elective or core subject. Students can work at their own pace with the web-delivered courses and teachers can focus on the individual learning needs of each student. Assessments exams can also be given to entire classes to pinpoint gaps in content mastery.
Original credit. Novel provides options for students who want to accelerate their academic progress or need to gain credits outside of the traditional classroom. Students who want more flexibility in their schedule to pursue advanced placement courses, jobs, or other interests now have an option to meet their educational needs.
Credit recovery. Students can focus on mastering their education gaps by utilizing Novel’s assessment mode. Through the self-paced, individualized course of study, students can get back on track, or accelerate their credit accrual during the normal school year or summer school. Because courses are web-based, students can access their courses anytime, anywhere.
Homebound & home school students. Novel provides rigor and flexibility for homebound or home schooled students. Educators can use Novel to maintain the student-teacher relationship when students need to continue their education from home or another facility.
Students seeking more flexibility can work through the web-based curriculum at their own pace under the guidance of a highly qualified teacher from almost anywhere that has a computer and internet connection.
HOW IT WORKS
Each Novel course can be delivered to the student in one of two ways: full course or assessment mode.
In full course mode, students complete all lessons, assignments, and randomly generated midterms and final exams.
The assessment mode begins with an assessment test to determine the student’s content knowledge. Based on the results of the assessment, an individualized course of study is automatically generated focusing on the gaps in the student’s knowledge.
By having two course modes, educators can offer the best delivery method to meet each student’s needs.
Student-teacher relationship. Novel enhances the student-teacher relationship. Our automated system provides instant assessment, grading and feedback for you and your students, relieving most of the administrative burden. More one-on-one time with your students means an even stronger relationship in the classroom. Novel courses are designed to be student-paced, teacher-managed providing flexibility with control.
